Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program
In September 2021, the Madison/Dane County Continuum of Care (CoC) was selected by HUD as a YHDP community. This comes with a total funding allocation of $2,492,491 for two years, funds will then be renewed annually. The community has allocated $199,200 to hire staff and compensate youth during the planning process. The remainder of funds ($1,196,445 annually) is available to operate programs as determined in the Community’s Coordinated Plan (CCP).
The HSC and YAB are seeking organizations to administer projects as part of a broader effort to prevent and end youth homelessness. This RFP is for housing and supportive services projects that serve youth and young adults (under age 25) experiencing homelessness who meet HUD Categories 1, 2, and 4 of the homeless definition. Collaboration and innovation are highly encouraged as agencies consider this opportunity. Please carefully review the Request for Proposals and Application and Scoring Tool. Please note that completed applications are due at Noon on Friday, May 27th.
Agencies considering this funding opportunity must attend a training to learn more about the funding requirements through the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The training will be held on Thursday, May 19 from 9-11AM, virtually. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP and receive an invite. If a representative from your agency is unable to attend at that time, please reach out to email@example.com and Torrie will schedule an alternate time with you.
Selected projects will need to enter the full HUD application into E-snaps (HUD’s website portal). For those unfamiliar with E-snaps, I will provide assistance in navigating the system. Here you can find an example of the project application selected projects will need to complete.
If you have any questions, please contact Torrie Kopp Mueller, CoC Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or (608) 266-6254.
